The College of the Holy Cross ("Holy Cross"), a highly selective Catholic, Jesuit, liberal arts undergraduate institution, seeks an inspired and engaging leader to serve as the Nancy Savage Skinner '79 Director of the Prior Performing Arts Center ("The Prior"). Reporting directly to the Provost, the Nancy Savage Skinner '79 Director will work with a dynamic, creative team of faculty and staff to lead The Prior's strategic direction and to develop new and continuing opportunities for students, faculty, staff, and community members to engage with and experience the arts at Holy Cross.The College has a longstanding tradition of exceptional arts programming, and the new Prior Performing Arts Center is expected to build on that tradition to elevate and amplify the arts at Holy Cross. The Nancy Savage Skinner '79 Director will be expected to work with faculty, staff, students, and the College's senior leadership team to position The Prior as a place of energy, dynamism, and creativity for all members of the campus community and the city of Worcester, enriching the campus environment and advancing its mission for teaching, research, and engagement.RESPONSIBILITIES

• As the creative director of The Prior, work collaboratively with faculty and Holy Cross departments to design, envision and successfully implement arts programs - including the Prior Presents series - that serve both the College's mission and the greater Worcester community.
• Work collaboratively to enable the success of the production needs of the College's creative and performing arts departments and programs at Holy Cross; especially Theatre and Dance, Music, Visual Arts, and the Creative Writing Program.
• Develop experiential learning and student-facing work programs in arts production and arts administration as aligned with the opportunities presented by The Prior and within the broader arts ecosystem.
• Manage long-range and annual budgets and oversee The Prior's day-to-day operations in a fiscally responsible manner.
• Oversee a professional team and nurture a positive working culture that will support, challenge, and maintain a high-performing staff.
• Collaborate with the College's Advancement Office on the development and implementation of fundraising initiatives; steward major donor relationships.QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Demonstrated success implementing an artistic vision, preferably within the context of higher education.
• Political savvy, ability to thrive under pressure, and superb communication skills.
• A clear commitment to advancing the goals of justice, equity, and belonging, and an ability to work with diverse constituencies, including students, staff, faculty, and the broader community.
• Experience promoting the public image of an organization to its constituencies and in the media; elevating the visibility of the organization, its programs and activities.
• A clear record of experience in consensus-building.
• The ability to engage and collaborate with multiple stakeholders in a decentralized organization in order to enlist their creative partnership and help advance their ambitious goals.
• Deep interest in working and engaging with a broad range of students in multiple capacities (as participants, audience members, workers, and performers, among other roles); prior experience in higher education is preferable.
• A demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive and welcoming space, where students and student-centered programs thrive; and students interested in professional careers in the arts gain excellent training and meaningful experience working in the arts.
• Intelligence, professional acumen, intellectual curiosity, and a commitment to fostering a diverse, inclusive community related to the arts.
• A servant leader, whose leadership skills not only bring people together, but ensure that others feel taken care of and supported to do their best work.
• The capacity to implement and advance a major programmatic and physical resource to high standards.
• Experience developing processes and structures to support internal operations; including technical capabilities to support arts programming.
• Demonstrated success at aligning resources with strategic goals in an organization known for creating and presenting innovative, stimulating, and inspiring artistic programs.
• Knowledge of and interest in existing and emerging technologies; able to fully integrate digital resources for marketing and communications, ticketing, and operational systems.
• Experience leading effective marketing strategies to promote programming and events, and reach potential audiences.
• Record of success engaging with benefactors, arts leaders, and community partners to generate funds to support the arts.COMPENSATION AND START DATEThe compensation package will be competitive, with a minimum salary of $130,000.
