TravelNurseSource is working with Cogent Workforce Solutions Inc to find a qualified Oncology RN in Springfield, Massachusetts, 01101 Pay Information $2,592 to $2,808 per week About The Position Job Details: Schedule : Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM, 36 hours/week, 9x4s (No weekends, No call) Hourly Pay : $72/hr - $78/hr Guaranteed Hour: 36 hrs/wk Facility Type: Infusion Center Position Overview : Join our dynamic team at the Infusion Center , where we provide cutting-edge oncology infusion therapy. We are seeking an experienced Charge Nurse to manage the clinical operations of our oncology unit. In this leadership role, you will collaborate closely with the Director of the Infusion Center to ensure optimal patient care, efficient staffing, and a high-performing team. This position blends clinical and administrative responsibilities, including direct patient care, staff management, policy development, and performance evaluation. As a Charge Nurse, you will play a vital role in leading a compassionate team that strives for excellence in patient care. Key Responsibilities : Manage Unit Operations : Work closely with the Director to oversee daily operations, ensuring proper staffing levels and effective scheduling. Supervise and Support Staff : Lead nursing and Patient Care Technician (PCT) staff, ensuring optimal care delivery and fostering team collaboration. Serve as Charge Nurse : Oversee patient care during clinical shifts, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest quality of service. Scheduling : Develop and maintain Nursing and PCT schedules, ensuring efficient staffing and workload distribution. Policy Development : Collaborate with the Director and Nurse Educator to develop, revise, and implement unit policies and procedures based on best practices. Staff Performance : Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching, constructive counseling, and goal-setting to support staff development. Promote a Culture of Improvement : Encourage continuous improvement and professional growth while maintaining a strong focus on high-quality, patient-centered care. Direct Patient Care : Assist with patient care, education, and support, particularly for oncology infusion patients. Staff Training and Orientation : Oversee the orientation and training of new staff, in collaboration with the Nurse Director and Nurse Educator. Resource Management : Maintain and manage unit supplies, equipment, and resources to ensure smooth operations. Hospital Participation : Participate in hospital committees, quality improvement programs, and initiatives to enhance care standards. Patient Rights : Ensure patient rights, privacy, and dignity are respected in all aspects of care. Qualifications : Current MA RN License required. BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required. Minimum 2 years of experience in infusion therapy, with specialized expertise in oncology infusion . Leadership Experience : Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role required. Education : Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program required; BSN preferred . Additional Coursework : Education or coursework in business, health administration, or public health is a plus.
