Job Description:

Provides leadership to the Produce team, responsible for daily operations profitability, expense control, buying, merchandising, labor, regulatory compliance, and special projects. Accountable for Team Member hiring, development, corrective actions, and separations. Ensures a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and Team Members. Job Responsibilities:

  • Holds Team Members accountable for delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Builds a positive work environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale.
  • Makes hiring and separation decisions.
  • Accountable for monitoring and achieving sales, purchasing, and labor targets.
  • Maintains proper product assortment, merchandising, and inventory control.
  • Establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships with department leaders and vendors.
  • Sustains industry knowledge and awareness.
  • Sets and achieves retail execution standards.
  • Fosters a positive work environment.
  • Maintains customer awareness and directs Team Members to satisfy and delight customers.
  • Selects, trains, develops, and counsels Team Members to sustain a high-performance team.
  • Provides timely performance evaluations.
  • Communicates and models WFM vision and goals.Job Skills:
    • Sustains industry knowledge and awareness.
    • Advanced knowledge of products, buying, pricing, merchandising, and inventory management.
    • Food safety certification.
    • Excellent interpersonal and customer relationship skills.
    • Capable of teaching others.
    • Product knowledge.
    • Proficient mathematical skills.
    • Leadership skills and decision-making ability.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operations-related applications.Experience:
      • 24+ months retail experience with 12+ months of team leadership experience.Physical Requirements:
        • Lifts 50 pounds.
        • Standing/walking 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day.
        • Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
        • Work requires bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
        • Exposed to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
        • Exposed to temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
        • Works in a wet and cold environment.
        • Works flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
        • Uses tools and equipment, including box cutters and heavy machinery.
